FD Training

A training exercise brought two pieces of Halifax Fire & Rescue apparatus downtown today.

To the left is Tactical Unit 4, (the former No.1) 92-73TS built by Pemberton Fabricators of New Jersey in 1992. As far as I can tell Pemfab no longer builds chassis, but at one time Halifax had several Pemfabs with Pierrevile pumper bodies. As a hazmat command centre unit, it is based at Lady Hammond Road (Station #4) in Halifax.

To the right is a Pierce Quint 07-471Q, Built in 2007, it is based at Highfield Drive in Dartmouth (Station#12.) It has a 2000 gpm Watrous pump in addition to an array of ladders, hoses and the aerial. Typical of Pierce it still has an air driven siren on the bumper.
