Tandem Straits

I have always liked tandem axle strait trucks, so am sure to grab a photo no matter how many "round the blocks" I have to make to catch up with one. My catch today was made somewhat simplier as I guessed where the truck was headed and managed to get there in time.

The Peterbilt day cab with a low rise van body is operated by Darling International Canada Inc. The truck picks up waste from grocery stores and other establishments and transports it to recycling centres. Darling, based in Texas, was primarily a renderling company, but has branched out to recycle and repurpose materials for a multitude of uses. In 2013 Darling Ingredients acquired Rothsay, which it rebranded as Darling 2022.

I found the truck at my local grocery store, as I had guessed, where it was about to take on cargo from company owned sealed containers. I assume the truck is based at the former Rothsay facility in Truro, NS.
