Summer

It is summer and thus hard to find time to post regularly. I will be off on my usual road trip in August, so posts may be rare until September.

Some recent spottings:

Parts for Trucks in Burnside had this spotless Sterling outside their repair bay. Painted in traditional Day + Ross "big orange" colours, I hope to see it on parade duty somewhere this summer.

Out to pasture, this "Never Back Down" version Western Star, appears to be the same one I saw at  the Atlantic Truck Show in Moncton in June, but is now at the Western Star dealer in Dartmouth.

Wildmog

Wildmog is a European design compact body built for the Unimog U500 chassis. Headquartered in Tucson, AZ. Wildmog caters to the adventurer and others travelling in remote areas. It has huge self contained fuel and water capacity and other features for travel off the beaten track.
Unlike many of the European travel vehicles I have shown on this site, this one is US built, and carries Oregon plates.

1. The Unimog is a 4x4 chassis produced by Daimler Benz in several civilian and military versions.

2. The Wildmog body has a lift up roof and slide out section on the passenger side. When the roof is lowered, the windows are covered. The "trunk" on the back carries motorcycles.

Unimog

It's winter and the plows and snow blowers are out in profusion once again.

This one is a new one on me however, a European Unimog, seen in Burnside this morning.

It had too happen - one chute is not enough - mono is boring - go STEREO.
